Three Workshops, Each Built for a Different Need

Phra Capital offers three structured programmes. Each one addresses a different area of financial life that adults at 40+ in Thailand commonly find they want to understand better.

Our Methodology

How Each Programme Works

Every Phra Capital programme is structured around the same underlying method: the facilitator works with participants rather than talking at them. Questions are expected and welcomed. The pace is set by the group's understanding, not by a fixed schedule. Materials are designed to be used beyond the session itself.

Participants are not ranked or assessed. There are no tests and no performance expectations. The aim of each programme is comprehension — specifically, the kind of comprehension that stays with a person after they have left the room and returned to their ordinary week.

Each programme runs a fixed number of sessions. The bank statement workshop runs across two sessions. The markets programme runs over three evenings. The family conversation programme runs across a weekend, with two sessions on the same day. All sessions are held at the Phra Nakhon premises.

Standards Across All Programmes

  • Maximum 12 participants per session
  • Facilitator with postgraduate qualification
  • No product recommendations
  • Printed materials included
  • Post-session follow-up within one week
  • PDPA-compliant data handling

Bank statement reading workshop

Programme 01

Reading the Bank Statement

A two-session workshop devoted to the patient skill of reading bank account statements and recognising the rhythms of a household's monthly cashflow. Participants bring three months of their own statements — with personal numbers redacted if they prefer — and the facilitator walks through them anonymously with the group.

The aim is comprehension and self-knowledge, not judgment. Participants leave with a one-page personal cashflow summary they have built themselves during the sessions. This is a working document — not a template, but a real summary of their own household's financial rhythm.

What the Programme Covers

  • How to read the standard layout of a Thai bank statement
  • Identifying recurring income and outgoings from transaction histories
  • Understanding seasonal patterns in household cashflow
  • Building a one-page cashflow summary to keep and use independently

Programme 02

A Considered Approach to Markets

A three-evening programme on market history, the patient reading of market commentary, and the gentle work of staying with one's own household plan when news cycles intensify. The facilitator draws on long-running historical examples from Thai and regional markets.

The aim is calm fluency rather than activity. Participants do not leave with a strategy for investing. They leave with a more measured relationship to market news and a better sense of the distance between headlines and their own situation.

What the Programme Covers

  • A survey of Thai and regional market history over the past forty years
  • How to read financial news and market commentary with appropriate scepticism
  • Understanding cycles, volatility, and the limits of short-term commentary
  • A reflection card and recommended reading list to use after the programme ends

Family financial conversation programme

Programme 03

The Family Conversation Programme

A weekend programme of two sessions on the conversations within Thai families at 40+ that touch on money — supporting elderly parents, helping younger relatives with education, planning for one's own later years, and the patient practice of speaking about all of these with care.

The facilitator provides discussion prompts and a printed conversation guide; the sessions themselves are gentle and unhurried. The programme is designed for individuals or couples, with optional follow-up reflection at home. Participants take away frameworks they can use in actual family conversations over the months ahead.

What the Programme Covers

  • Supporting elderly parents financially without straining one's own household
  • Talking with younger family members about education costs and planning
  • Having productive conversations with a partner about household finances
  • Thinking ahead to one's own later years in a calm, considered way
  • A printed conversation guide to use at home after the programme

Shared Standards

Professional Protocols Across All Programmes

Privacy & Confidentiality

Participant information is handled under Thailand's PDPA. No personal financial data discussed in sessions is shared outside the room.

Annual Programme Review

All three programmes are reviewed annually by the facilitation team and a group of past participants to ensure materials remain current.

No Product Affiliation

Phra Capital is entirely independent. No financial institution, insurance company, or investment platform has any involvement in our content or recommendations.

Group Size Control

Sessions are capped at twelve. When a session fills, we open a new date rather than expand the group beyond what allows good facilitation.

Post-Session Follow-Up

Within one week of a programme's final session, each participant receives a follow-up note from the facilitator with a brief reflection and any additional references.

Printed Materials Included

All printed materials — cashflow summaries, reflection cards, conversation guides, reading lists — are prepared in-house and included in the programme fee.
